You really have to love technology today and all the ways it can be implemented. And the amount of new gadgets coming out everyday is mind blowing.
I was looking around Amazon today and was stunned by some of the gadgets that I personally would never have thought of to make them “high-tech”.
And I’m talking some pretty low tech stuff here. Super simple things.
Just to give you an example, how about the meat thermometer…
Yup, the simple “no-tech” meat thermometer has now become a high tech gadget! For me a meat themometer looked something like the picture on the right. You know, the “boring” kind that your mom used. Heck, even your grandmother. That’s what I’ve been using as well.
But no more! I ended up buying one of the digital instant read ones. Which I definitely like the idea of it being an “instant” read. So now I’m part of the 21st century. Or sort of…
If you really want to be a high-tech cook, then there is even a wireless temp reader remote digital thermometer. And get this, it can connect to your phone using an app!
So now you can be outside by the pool or whatever and the little app on your phone will tell you when your dinner reaches a certain temperature or whatever you need. They even have Bluetooth ones! Crazy!
But that’s not all…
How about a digital spoon scale? Yeah, a cross between a regular teaspoon and an actual scale! So now you can measure exactly how much something weighs in your teaspoon.
I don’t know why? Maybe you can measure the amount of sugar you put in your coffee each day to get that perfect cup?
And I saw things like door locks that are super tech rich.
Ones that read your fingerprint so you don’t need a key or anything. My only problem with that is, what happens if the finger print reader breaks, or gets too dirty or something? How would you get into your house?
One cool gadget that I really did like, being in New York with our winters, is the remote car starter in consumer reports. I LOVE the idea of starting my car from inside my warm house rather than freezing while I’m waiting for it to warm up.
Times sure have changed when I grew up from when a Pager was high tech. Yet I do love the ingenuity of some of the gadgets I ran across. And I can’t wait to see more of what comes out.
What about you? Have you seen some cool gadgets that have been beefed up with some tech? Share them in the comments and let us know!
